Exactly one week after a fire broke out in flats in Crawley Road, Horsham, at 6pm on Sunday November 23, homes inside the block were plunged into darkness.

Detective constable Karen Young said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the arson or anyone who may have been seen hanging around in the hours or days leading up to the fire.”

A Sussex Police spokesperson added: “On November 30 at around 8.30pm, the occupants of flats above the Horsham Car Centre on Crawley Road reported the fuse box outside the property had been tampered with.

“Wires were pulled out but there was no permanent damage done.

“Officers are looking to see if this issue is connected to a fire in the communal area on November 23.”
