Birds of prey die in Angmering blaze

Two birds of prey died in a fire which destroyed a wooden storage building in Angmering early this morning (Saturday, October 27).

Four fire crews from East Preston, Arundel and Littlehampton tackled the blaze, in Dappers Lane, which broke out just before 3am.

By the time they arrived, the building was well alight, and the fierce flames completely destroyed the structure.

The two birds were found in the wreckage.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway this morning, but West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was believed to have started accidentally.
