Eye witnesses said the lights were stuck on red yesterday and resulted in a build up of traffic in the area.

The problem has now been resolved.

A council spokesperson said, “We were made aware of the issue with the temporary traffic lights at Cross Levels Way at 11.30am on Thursday (March 18), and one of our emergency teams visited the site to carry out checks and repairs.

“The lights were fixed by 3pm. We apologise for any delays road users may have experienced while the lights were being repaired.

“These temporary lights will be removed once the permanent lights are working, when power is restored by the power company. The lights were unfortunately damaged by a vehicle collision.”
