Crash and toilet fires attended by West Sussex firefighters

INCIDENTS attended by firefighters yesterday (Monday, May 21) include:-

9.09am to 9.23am:

House, Elm Grove, Worthing – small fire in kitchen. Two crews from Worthing at the scene and PPV fan used to ventilate.

2.25pm to 2.43pm:

Stane Street, Chichester – collision between one car and one postal van. One woman released before the arrival of firefighters and taken to hospital by ambulance. One man treated by paramedics at the scene. Police and one crew from Chichester in attendance.

3.50pm to 4.15pm:

Pub, Southgate, Chichester – fire in griddle extinguished by firefighters using fire blanket and foam extinguisher. One crew from Chichester at the scene.

5.15pm to 5.35pm:

Beach Green, Shoreham – multiple fires in men’s public toilets. Fires out on arrival of a crew from Shoreham. Arsonists blamed.

9.45pm to 9.55pm:

Sompting Road, Lancing – fire in bin to the rear of a block flats. One crew from Lancing in attendance. Arsonists blamed.
