Cyclist dies following collision near Horsham

A cyclist has died following a collision with a vehicle in Kerves Lane, Horsham this morning (Monday December 8).

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the collision occurred shortly before 11am near Bournehill Lodge, and resulted in Kerves Lane being closed between its junctions with the A281 Brighton Road to the north and Hard’s Hill/Coldstaple Lane to the south.

Paramedics, including air ambulance, attended but sadly the cyclist, a man, died at the scene. The coroner has been informed.

A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, police said.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting Operation Ashling.

In particular, officers would like to speak to two horseriders believed to have passed the scene shortly before the collision occurred.
