AA Traffic News at www.theaa.com/route-planner/traffic-news said the debris was reported on the A2300.
It said: “Reports of plank of wood on road on A2300 both ways from A23 to Cuckfield Road. Approach with care. Traffic is coping well.”
The incident was first reported at 8.38am.
