Police are investigating a collision on the A27 at Polegate which left a young driver severely shaken and her car damaged.

At 9.20pm yesterday (Sunday May 11) a silver Peugeot 206 was being driven by an 18-year-old local woman in the inside lane of the eastbound carriageway of the A27 at Polegate.

A blue five-door car pulled in front causing her to brake and swerve, police said.

Her car went across the outside lane and hit the central reservation barrier.

She was unhurt but very shaken, and fortunately a passer-by stopped and helped her.

The blue car did not stop.

PC Richard Hobbs, of the Sussex Road policing unit at Polegate, said; “We would like to trace the driver of that car, and anyone else who saw what happened.

“If you can help, please contact us via 101 or email quoting serial 1420 of 11/5.”
