East Grinstead pensioner suffers serious head injury in crash

A pensioner from East Grinstead was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after a crash in the town yesterday (Thursday August 13).

The man, a pedestrian, was involved in a collision with a car shortly before 6.30pm in Queen’s Walk.

The 77-year-old was taken to East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, where he has been detained for treatment.

The car involved was a green Nissan Micra driven by an 80-year-old woman, also from East Grinstead. She was unhurt.

Queen’s Walk was closed to traffic while the collision was dealt with.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information can email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 1275 of 13/8.
