An Eastbourne road’s footpath is set to be closed for eight days starting next month.

The footpath along Moy Avenue will be closed in sections from May 4 and work will be carried out from 8.30am until 4pm, although there is no work on the weekend.

During this time the road will still be open for vehicles.

East Sussex Highways has also asked that residents avoid parking in the area during this time, although there will be signs and cones in place to enforce parking restrictions.

The maintenance is part of a programme which has come about due to the Government’ Covid-19 recovery roadmap.

The aim of the improvements are to allow more people to walk and cycle while ensuring social distancing.

A spokesperson for East Sussex Highways said, “We apologise for any inconvenience that these works cause. If you do wish to make any comments or have any concerns, prior to the works, then please do contact us on 0345 60 80 193.”
