Hassocks road will be re-surfaced in September

Motorists who are fuming over a pock-marked stretch of road in Hassocks will have to wait until mid September for re-surfacing work to start.

The stretch of road is between Stonepound Crossroads and a mini-roundabout at the junction of Keymer Road with Woodsland Road.

West Sussex County Council has received a stream of complaints about the road’s ruptured surface, which is pock- marked with ruts and pot-holes.

The Middy understands that re-surfacing work was pencilled in for June but the date was put back to September to allow for gas works.

A spokesman for the county council, announced this week that re-surfacing work will start on September 16 and will last for two days.
