Sussex Police say an early morning drop in temperatures created treacherous icy conditions on many roads.

Emergency services were called to the B2133 east of Adversane after a collision involving three vehicles (pictured above).

There are no reports of serious injury at this stage.

Black ice was present on the road.

Two cars left the road and collided with hedges at Barnsfold Farm, Loxwood, near Billingshurst, at around 9.15am but no injuries were reported.

Police have warned motorists to beware of sudden changes in temperature which can lead to ice forming on road surfaces.

Drivers are advised to slow down, use controls sensitively and to leave plenty of room between themselves and other vehicles.
