Littlehampton crash closes roads

Emergency services are currently attending a crash on the A259, close to the bridge over the River Arun, near the roundabout junction with the B2187 Bridge Road.

The road is completely blocked and closures are in place at the roundabout and at the junction of Church Lane to and the A259 west, towards Bognor.

The collision happened at around 2.15pm with three people understood to have been injured during the crash.

The driver is being treated by paramedics and an air ambulance crew who landed near by after being cut free by firefighters. The driver’s injuries have been described by police as “serious.”

Two passengers in the Polo are also understood to be being treated, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
