Littlehampton woman dies after collision

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision between a van and a pedestrian in Littlehampton.

At 10.14am on this morning (January 20), officers were called to reports of the incident in Highdown Drive.

The pedestrian, a 79-year-old woman from Littlehampton, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where she sadly died of her injuries.

The driver of the van, a 49-year-old man from Worthing, was uninjured.

The road was temporarily closed between the A259 and Cornwall Road but has since reopened.
