Long delays on the A259 at Rye as roadworks continue

There are long delays in Rye today due to ongoing roadworks on the A259.

Temporary traffic lights were installed in South Undercliff close to the Kettle o’ Fish roundabout on Thursday (April 15) while drainage works are carried out.

There are currently delays on the approach in all directions. One motorist said it took them 40 minutes to get from Peasmarsh to Rye Another motorist described it as ‘chaos’ in Rye at the moment.

Traffic reports show long delays through Rye and the surrounding areas, with eastbound queues backed up as far as Winchelsea.
