Man died in Little London crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road crash on the A267 at Little London, between Cross-in-Hand and Horam, early today (Wednesday October 30).

The accident happened at around 7am and involved a blue Ford Fiesta signwritten van travelling south and a white articulated lorry travelling north.

The van driver was trapped in his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Eastbourne District General Hospital.

Sergeant Dan Pitcher, of Sussex Police, said: “We want to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who saw either vehicle being driven during the time leading up to the collision.”

The road was closed between Horam and Cross-in-Hand and traffic diverted via the B2203 through Maynards Green.

It is expected to remain closed for several hours.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or e-mail quoting Operation Orlop.
