Man seriously injured in Crowborough collision

A man suffered serious injuries in a collision which closed the A26 Uckfield Road at Crowborough for four hours this morning (Monday December 8).

Police said at 8.50am a Suzuki jeep driving north and a van driving south, collided on the A26, just south of the Crow and Gate pub.

The 66-year old man driving the Suzuki was freed by firefighters and taken by air ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.

He is currently in a stable condition.

The man driving the van was slightly injured.

The A26 was closed in both directions and was reopened at 12.50pm.
