Pedestrian killed in A27 collision at Crossbush

POLICE are investigating the death of a pedestrian in an accident on the A27 at Crossbush early this morning.

The man was walking along the westbound carriageway at about 1.30am when he was in collision with a Rover 75 car driven by a 24-year-old man from Bognor.

The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, died from his injuries at the scene. The car driver was treated for shock.

The A27 was closed for about four hours while police carried out an examination of the area around the collision.

Anyone who saw a pedestrian walking along that stretch of the road early this morning, or who saw a Rover 75 being driven along the A27, is asked to contact Sussex Police, quoting Operation Parham.
