Person dies after being hit by a train at Three Bridges

Southern Rail said all lines were blocked due to the incident, which happened yesterday, January 28.

British Transport Police were called to the station at 5.33pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks, a police spokesman said.

He added: “Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.”

This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, the spokesman said.

Disruption due to this incident ended in the early hours of this morning, Southern Rail confirmed.
