Person rescued from car on its roof on the A24 after two vehicle crash

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “We were called at 6.25pm last night (August 4) to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A24 at the Hop Oast roundabout in Southwater.
“Joint Fire Control mobilised two fire engines from Horsham Fire Station to the scene along with the Heavy Rescue Tender from Crawley.”

Hide AdOfficers from Sussex Police and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were also on the scene.
He added: “Upon arrival firefighters found one car on its roof and worked to release one person who was trapped using hydraulic rescue equipment. They were left in the care of paramedics.
“Crews booked away from the incident at 7.28pm.”
A police spokesman siad Sussex Police responded to a report of a car that had overturned on the northbound approach to the Hop Oast roundabout near Horsham at 6.24pm on Wednesday (August 4).
A spokesman added: “Officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU), fire and ambulance crews attended and assisted the woman who was trapped in the vehicle.
“She was treated for a minor injury at the scene.
“The road was temporarily closed and reopened by 7pm when the vehicle was recovered.”
