Road re-opened after two injured in trailer crash near Pease Pottage

A road near Pease Pottage which was closed after a trailer crashed into pedestrians waiting at a bus stop has re-opened.

Tollgate Hill was shut by police following a crash just after 11am this morning (November 14).

Police said a trailer became detached from a lorry and crashed into two people waiting at a bus top along the road.

Paramedics along with the HART specialist response team and Air Ambulance crews attended the scene and treated the pair for multiple injuries. They were then rushed to hospital for further checks.

Police said their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed at the junction with William Morris Way at about 11.25am. It was re-opened at 3.20pm this afternoon, officers added.
