Sussex evening traffic report: A270 closed after 'police incident' and A29 remains blocked hours after crash

A road between Shoreham and Brighton is reportedly closed after a police incident this evening (Wednesday, October 14).

According to traffic reports, A270 Old Shoreham Road is closed both ways at Wilbury Crescent.

Fonthill Road in Hove is partly blocked due to an accident involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian at Newtown Road

The A29 remains closed in Slindon, both ways between Madehurst Road and A284 London Road (Whiteways Lodge Roundabout), after a collision at around 3pm. Traffic is being diverted via Arundel.

UPDATE: Man dies after A29 crashElsewhere, Buckingham Road in Shoreham-By-Sea is reportedly blocked due to a railroad crossing failure. Traffic reports have said that barriers are stuck in the down position outside the railway station.

Woodfield Road in Crawley was partly blocked earlier due to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian at Barnfield Road. The road has now reportedly cleared.
