Sussex morning travel bulletin for Wednesday, January 27

Here is your Sussex travel update for this morning (Wednesday, January 27).

There are reports of an accident involving two cars on one of the roads in the county today.

According to the AA, the incident happened on the B2096 between Rookery Lane and Battle Road, near Heathfield, and is affecting traffic in both directions.

Elsewhere there are reports of queueing traffic on the A264 Copthorne Common Road eastbound between A2220 Copthorne Road and B2028 Turners Hill Road in the construction area.

Temporary traffic lights are in place around the telecoms works and travel time is around 10 minutes, according to the AA.

Elsewhere roadworks, gas and electricity work, are affecting many roads across Sussex, with temporary traffic lights in place.

There are temporary traffic signals due to construction on A268 Wish Street at A259 in Rye.

There are also temporary traffic lights due to emergency repairs to a burst water main on A268 Landgate around Military Road.

According to the AA, there are temporary traffic signals due to gas main work on the A259 Bexhill Road from Bridgeway to Bulverhythe Road in St Leonards.

There are temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A2036 Hastings Road.

Construction work on B2093 The Ridge at Chowns Hill means there are temporary traffic lights in place. A new signalised pedestrian crossing is being installed.

Temporary traffic signals are also in place because of gas main work on the A2101 St Helens Road around St Helen’s Park Road in Hastings, as well as on St Helen’s Park Road at Fearon Road.

In Eastbourne, there are temporary traffic signals due to gas main work on Victoria Drive at Northiam Road.

Further west of the county, restrictions are in place due to construction work on the B2237 in Worthing Road at Sainsburys Petrol Station, Horsham.
