Train breaks down between Barnham and Horsham

A broken down train has disrupted services in Horsham this morning (Friday, January 29).

Southern, which runs the services, said the freight train broken down between Barnham and Horsham, meaning the line towards Horsham and London is currently closed.

As a result of this, trains may be cancelled, delayed or diverted between Barnham and Three Bridges.

Southern said disruption is expected to last until around 10am.

Rail replacement buses are running between between Barnham, Billingshurst, and Horsham.

Southern said for journeys from Southampton or Portsmouth, Havant, Chichester, towards Three Bridges and London, trains can still run but will be diverted away from the broken down train, and will be running via the Hove route, running non-stop between Barmham and Three Bridges.

There is also a reduced service between Horsham, Crawley, and Three Bridges towards London.
