Two taken to hospital after Alfold collision

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following a head-on collision in Alfold yesterday evening (Wednesday November) 27.

The collision, which involved a green Land Rover and a 17 tonne HGV lorry, took place in Horsham Road near the golf club around 6pm.

The female passenger of the Land Rover is believed to have been thrown from the vehicle as a result of the collision and was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with serious injuries.

The male driver of the Land Rover was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford with severe lacerations to his face. The driver of the HGV was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The road was closed for several hours while vehicles were recovered and debris was cleared. Diversions were in place.
