Uckfield driver suffers serious injuries after car ends up on roof

A 21-year-old Uckfield man suffered serious injuries when the car he was driving landed on its roof after he lost control as it hit a puddle in Hadlow Down at 3.35am on Saturday (January 25).

Police said the black Fiat Punto was travelling westbound on the A272 near the junction with Five Chimneys Lane when it hit a puddle of water, left the carrigeway, collided with trees before landing in its roof.

The driver was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries. His passenger, a 27-year-old man from Eastbourne, was also taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with minor injuries.
