UPDATE: Developer to hold ‘thorough investigation’ into fall at Broadbridge Heath building site

The man, who was working for Bovis Homes’ bricklaying contractor and is believed to be in his 30s, suffered injuries to his head, neck, and abdomen after falling approximately six metres.

Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the Bovis site, which is within the new Wickhurst Green development south of the village, just before 9am.

He was taken by road to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton by paramedics.

A spokesperson for Bovis Homes said: “Our on-site team administered first aid to a man following a fall at our Wickhurst Green development.

“The man, working for our a bricklaying contractor, was subsequently taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital by road ambulance.

“We are currently conducting our own thorough investigation into the cause of the accident with our contractors and other work colleagues.

“We will continue to be in communication with the hospital and contractors to monitor the man’s condition and we understand he is set to leave hospital soon.”
