UPDATE: Man found hanging at Horsham church

A Horsham man was found dead at a church in the town centre last night (Thursday January 2), Sussex Police have confirmed.

Emergency services attended St John’s Church in Springfield Road shortly before 7pm.

Sussex Police officers were called by ambulance crew.

The force confirmed he was found hanging.

Police have identified the man as Dominic Bell, 47, from Rushams Road, Horsham.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports concerning the health of a man.

“Emergency services, including two ambulances, attended but the man was declared dead at the scene.

“He has been identified as Dominic Bell, 47, from Rushams Road, Horsham. His death is not being treated as suspicious and has been passed to the coroner.”
