UPDATE: Two taken to hospital after crash on A275 at Furner’s Green

Two people have taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in rolled on the A275 in Furner’s Green this afternoon (Thursday May 28).

Emergency services were called to the scene, just north of Sheffield Park at the junction of North Hall Lane, at 12.25pm.

Two cars collided, with one rolling off the road and on to its roof.

A man and woman were freed from the rolled Toyota Avensis by firefighters and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Police said the woman passenger’s injuries were described as serious, but not thought to be life-threatening. The male driver sustained minor injuries.

The occupants of the other vehicle involved, a Land Rover Discovery, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Diversions were put in place while the road was closed, but it reopened at around 3.40pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information can email [email protected] or call 101 quoting serial 582 of 28/05.
