Woman killed in Amberley crash is named

POLICE have named a 68-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a horrific crash near Amberley, on Thursday.

Cecelia Hearn of Hurst Cottages, East Street, Amberley, was killed when the silver Ford Fiesta she was driving collided with a blue Saab at roughly 5pm.

A 69-year-old woman from Amberley, who was a passenger in the Fiesta, was seriously injured in the crash and is now recovering in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

A 44-year-old woman from Tangmere, who was a passenger in the Saab, was taken to Worthing Hospital with an ankle injury and serious brusing, but has now been released.

The driver of the Saab, a 40-year-old man from Guildford and a 69-year-old woman from South Africa, who was a passenger, were treated at Worthing Hospital for minor injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Keston.
