TRAVEL NEWS: Overturned vehicle and snow causing problems on Sussex roads

Overnight snowfall has caused problems on the roads across Sussex this morning (Sunday, January 17).

Warnings have been put in place on roads where the conditions are particularly icy, including the A259 East Dean Road, in Eastbourne, between the Summerdown Road junction and the B2103 Warren Hill junction.

The B2123 Falmer Road in Rottingdean is currently closed in both directions between the Bazehill Road junction and the Warren Way junction due to snow.

Motorists are also being told to expect delays on the A283 Steyning by-pass due to an overturned vehicle. The road is blocked in both directions at the Maudlin Lane junction.

Following the sub-zero temperatures overnight, East Sussex County Council’s gritters are currently out on primary routes across the county.
