LOCAL authorities and Sussex Police will work together over the next few weeks to reduce the risk of further illegal occupations at The Joff in Peacehaven.

This follows last week’s removal of about 30 caravans from the site.

East Sussex County Council will work with local partners to see how the site can be made more secure, whilst keeping it open for local people to continue to enjoy.

In the meantime following last week’s removal notice at this site under Section 61 of Criminal Justice Public Order Act 1994 remains in effect and will continue to do so for the next three months.

The council will continue to work with Sussex Police, council partners, local communities and the travelling community to support a peaceful environment.
