Treasure hunt boosts funds

More than £400 has been raised for charity by a treasure hunt organised by Pagham Bowls Club.

Over 50 members and their friends took part in the fundraiser for MacMillan Cancer Care.

A tie break saw Marlene Steel, Sylvia Pugh and Joan and Tony Wells declared the winners of the evening event ahead of their closest rivals.

The walk and treasure hunt was organised by bowls club member Beverley Quilter.

She has worked unstintingly for the charity each year to raise a substantial sum for its activities. This year's event raised 440-plus.

After the hunt's cryptic clues had been mastered, those who took part in the walk enjoyed a buffet with food provided by club members. This was followed by a large raffle.
