Tree blown down in gales
A CAR was almost flattened when a 40ft-high tree was blown over in gale-force winds.
The tree landed just yards from the vehicle after falling across Buckingham Road, Shoreham, at 11.30am last Thursday.
Police closed the road for two hours while officers from Adur Watch and West Sussex Highways cleared the tree and debris in pouring rain and strong winds.
