Tribute to fireman

A FIRE engine led the funeral procession through Lancing yesterday (Wednesday) of retired retained firefighter Brian Maple, who died before Christmas.

Mr Maple died suddenly on December 23, aged 64. The engine, from Lancing fire station, led the procession to St Michael's and All Angels Church, where the funeral service was held.

Mr Maple was a retained firefighter at the Lancing station and used to work at Freshbrook First School, Brighton power station and for Seeboard.

The funeral was organised by Ian Hart Funeral Service, of South Farm Road, Worthing.
