Tributes paid as Eastbourne ambulance technician dies

Tributes have been paid after the death of a popular Eastbourne ambulance technician.

Caroline Flack passed away after a long battle with cancer.

She was 51 and had retired last summer after 25 years with the South East Coast Ambulance Service working in the Eastbourne area.

Staff and colleagues paid tribute to the former Cavendish School pupil at her funeral today.

Her funeral procession went past ambulance premises.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said, “Our thoughts are with Caroline’s family, friends and colleagues.

“An ambulance technician of 25 years, Caroline spent the majority of her career in Eastbourne and latterly at Polegate, before retiring last summer.

“She was a much-loved and valued member of staff who will be very much missed by her colleagues both at Polegate and further afield across the trust. Caroline was always extremely passionate about staff welfare and despite her illness, remained committed throughout to providing support to her colleagues however she could.”
