Tributes paid to Horsham teenager

Toby Woolford, aged 19, was killed when his Vauxhall Corsa collided with an HGV lorry on the A27 at Arundel on Thursday August 25.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at 7.10am after receiving reports of a male trapped in his car on the stretch between Arundel railway station and Crossbush.

He was released by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and received immediate medical treatment but tragically died minutes later.

The family of Toby Woolford said: “We hope that everyone will respect our need for privacy during this very difficult time. We have a close group of very supportive friends and family that will help us through this tragic period in our lives.

“Toby was much loved by everyone that knew him. He was a loving son, brother, boyfriend and a loyal friend. He will be missed more than words can say. He will always be remembered for his smile, his kindness and above all his ability to make you laugh.

“Toby had just started a new chapter in his life. He had just started a new apprenticeship and was excited by the new challenges that lay ahead of him.

“He will leave us with many wonderful memories and filled our lives with laughter and joy. His tragic passing will leave an enormous hole in our hearts but also with a smile knowing that Toby loved life and lived it to the full.”
