Rye Bonfire Society has reported the death of one of its longest serving members.
Peter Read passed away peacefully at the Conquest Hospital on 21st February 2015 aged 82 years.
Neale East, from the Society, said: “He was a leading fund raiser for the Society. He never missed an occasion to stand outside Adams the Printers collecting money for our programmes on Bonfire Night or to rattle a fund raising bucket on our behalf at every opportunity whatever the weather. In fact, anything to help, you never had to ask, he just turned up to lend a hand.”
