Grace McAdie, 19, died when her Ford Ka car left the road on the B2165 at Northiam and overturned last Tuesday (August 2).

Her family said Grace was ‘bubbly, kind, caring and fun-loving, and lit up any room she walked into’.

Grace had just completed her first year at Bath Spa University, where she was studying psychology, and had enjoyed spending the summer with family and friends at home in Battle.

She was sensible and responsible, and in a bid to avoid leaving university in any debt, she had worked at a pub in nearby Hooe, her family added.

The 19-year-old studied at St Richard’s Catholic College in Bexhill and Tonbridge Grammar School, and during her school years she had worked voluntarily in a charity shop.

She also achieved The Diana Award, named in honour of the late Princess of Wales, for helping others.

Grace was admired for her selfless and sensitive attitude towards life, her mother Susanne said.

She added: “Grace was always full of life. She loved music, and she was always singing and dancing.

“She was very social and had lots of friends, but she was also very family orientated. She was kind, caring and fun-loving, and she lit up any room she walked into.”

Grace had been on her way home to her family’s address in Marley Lane, Battle, when the fatal incident occurred at about 10.48pm last Tuesday.
