Tributes to murdered Bexhill shopkeeper

The family of a Sidley shopkeeper, who was found dead at her home in West End, Herstmonceux, on Monday (March 21), have paid tribute to her.

In a statement, Carrie Izzard’s family said: “Carrie was a much-loved daughter, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed.

“Her fun-loving ways and zest for life will live on in our memories.

“Her passing in such tragic circumstances will leave a big hole in the lives of her family and those who knew her.

“The family requests privacy at this sad time.”

Carrie, aged 47, worked at Battle Tackle in Ninfield Road.

A number of floral tributes have been left outside the shop.

A 50-year-old man from Battle has been arrested in connection with Carrie’s death and is being questioned by police.
