The centre will provide easy access to support, care and information for the local community and people living in the surrounding areas.

A statement released by the Sara Lee Trust said: “There is significant need for our specialist care to be available in Sidley, where the needs of the most vulnerable often go unmet and investment in health is historically insufficient.

“We have purchased the building using restricted reserves and are now looking to raise £15,000 from this crowdfunding campaign to help with the costs of refurbishing and extending the existing building.”

The Sara Lee Trust aims to improve the lives and well-being of people living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in the Hastings and Rother area through the provision, free of charge, of psychological and counselling support, creative and complementary therapies, and therapeutic group activities.
