Tunnel closure for cleaning and repairs

THE Cuilfail Tunnel is to be closed for cleaning and maintenance.

There will be no access from 9pm on Friday, June 28, to 6am on Saturday.

Southbound traffic will be diverted through Malling Street and South Street to rejoin the A26 south of the tunnel.

Northbound A26 traffic will be diverted at Southerham and Ashcombe roundabouts, through Lewes town centre to rejoin the A26 on the Phoenix Causeway.

The gates at the end of South Street by the Snowdrop Pub will also be open to allow for diverted traffic.
