Turning back the clocks to Haywards Heath's ninth Spring Festival

Muster Green was heaving with people of all age groups joining in the festivities, in what was at the time, the ninth festival of it’s kind held by Haywards Heath Town Council.

There was a puppet show for the children telling the story of George and the Dragon, and a giant castle slide, a roundabout and candy floss.

Families enjoyed burgers and hotdogs and listened to music provided by the Haywards Heath brass Band, while many enjoyed the energetic displays by The Dove Cheerleaders, who looked colourful in their red and white outfits.

There was a number of stalls around the green, including the raffle of homemade cake and the Goldwing Motorcycle Club stand. They had seven of their super bikes on show to promote their visit to Ardingly showground.

St Peter and St James Hospice Haywards Heath support group, made a total sum of £293 from their stall, made possible by a donation from the Vale Road allotment society who sold plants to help raise funds for the group.

The town’s In Bloom competition and its entry in the regional In Bloom competition also came under way amongst the festivities.
