TV dealer offering antique valuations in Bexhill for charity

Simon, who is one of the experts featured on the television programmes Dickinson’s Real Deal and Secret Dealers, will be offering his expertise at Blods Hall for Diabetes UK.

The Brighton-based dealer is also keen to buy and is offering an opportunity for people to ‘cash in’ on any items they want to sell, and will be making a donation for every item bought.

“The work carried out by Diabetes UK is invaluable and without the charity’s pioneering research, life would be much tougher for my wife and so many others who have been fortunate to benefit from all they do,” he said.

“It is a privilege to give my support, and I hope people will search their cupboards and bring along any items they want valued as well as any forgotten or unwanted treasures they would like to sell.”

Simon, whose wife was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in childhood, is a regular supporter and fundraiser of the charity.

The event, from 10am to 4pm, is free entry and includes several local craft stalls, refreshments and a raffle – with a prize of £150 – with the winning ticket drawn by Simon at 4pm.

Valuations will cost £2 per item, and all proceeds will go to Diabetes UK.

Diabetes UK fundraiser Claire Baldry said: “Simon and his wife are dedicated supporters of the charity, and over the years have taken part in many fundraising activities to raise money and awareness of diabetes.

“Events like this can make a real difference to the lives of people living with, or affected by, the condtion and we are delighted that Simon will be joining in the festivities.“
