Two arrested after cannabis plants found in Durrington house

A SMALL cannabis factory has been dismantled after members of the community contacted police.

Officers visited a house in Brendon Road, Worthing, on Tuesday and discovered a bedroom was being used for the growing of cannabis plants under a lighting system.

Six plants and 38g (1.3oz) of cannabis were recovered at the property, along with hydroponics equipment.

A 20-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Worthing, were arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis. They were later released without charge.

A 32-year-old man was given a caution for the production of cannabis.

Sergeant Jo Webb, from Worthing’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The above intervention is a positive for our district.

“The production of illegal drugs will not be tolerated. If you have any information relating to drugs, from possession to drugs supply and production, please let us know. All information will be dealt with in confidence.”
