Two arrested after police seize £30,000 of cannabis

Two people have been arrested after police found £30,000 worth of cannabis in a van in Horsham.

Police said officers were called to an altercation between three men at the Hornbrook Inn, in Brighton Road, shortly before 8pm on May 31.

The men then drove off in a van.

A police spokesman said: “The van was traced to the Cisswood House Hotel in Sandygate Lane, Lower Beeding. Inside the van police discovered three kilogrammes of cannabis, with an estimated street value of £30,000.”

Officers said a 37-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class B drug (cannabis) with intent to supply. He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug (cocaine).

A 34-year-old man, also from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

Both have been bailed until August 15 while enquiries continue.
