Two-car crash on A29 at Shripney

A DRIVER was injured after a two-car crash in Shripney today (April 21).

Emergency services were called at 11.35am to the A29 Shripney Road.

“One man appeared to have suffered injuries but it is unclear what at this stage,” said a police spokesman.

A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue service added the incident occurred at the junction of Shripney Lane and Shripney Road and involved two cars.

“No-one was trapped in the vehicles and two elderly male drivers were both assessed by paramedics at the scene,” she said.

“A fire crew from Bognor Regis has made the scene safe (12.25pm), and left it with police.”

This latest crash follows on from two other crashes at the A29 Shripney Road in recent days.

On April 12, Peter Adair, 22, of Victoria Drive, Bognor, was killed after his car left the road and crashed into a tree after a slight collision with a Kia Picanto.

His 17-year-old teenage passenger is still in hospital in a critical condition.

And on Sunday (April 19) police received a call that a car ended up on its roof in Shripney Road at 2.15am.

The two occupants were uninjured. The vehicle was damaged and later recovered.
