Two further arrests made in Mayfield murder investigation

Police investigating the murder of a man in Mayfield have arrested two more teenagers in connection with his death.

Officers went to the property in Coggins Mill Lane on Thursday (February 25) following concerns that no one had seen the man for a few days.

The 52-year-old sole occupant was found dead at the house. His identity has not been released as police are still trying to locate his next of kin.

A 17-year-old boy from Crowborough was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday (February 27) and police have been granted a further 36-hours to question him. He is believed to be known to the victim.

A 17-year-old girl from Eastbourne has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also in custody.

A 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man both from Crowborough were also arrested on Sunday (February 28) on suspicion of assisting an offender and are in custody.

A post mortem revealed the man had died from multiple injuries.
