Hailsham inspector Rex Matthews said: 'This warrant was executed as a direct result of information received from the community. This is a good example of the police and community working together and dealing with the drugs menace in our towns and villages.'

The two women were taken to Eastbourne police station where they were questioned and later bailed pending further enquiries.

PC Jamie Sykes, beat manager for Hailsham town, said: 'The response from the public made this warrant possible. People were out on the street clapping as the warrant was carried out.'

PC Sykes called on local residents to help local officers deal with drug-related crime. He said: 'You know what's going on in your neighbourhood, in your streets and on your estates. If this information is passed on, we can and will do something about it.'
