Two hurt in May Day bike crash

TWO bikers were left with serious injuries after they crashed into each other on Monday.

The two motorbikes were travelling in opposite directions on the A259 between Rye and Winchelsea when they collided at around 12.55pm.

A 49-year-old man from Chatham, Kent, who was driving a Suzuki motorcycle was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, with foot and hand injuries.

The other motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man from Canterbury, Kent, who was riding a Honda motorbike, was taken to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings with serious foot injuries.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to ring Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 643 of 6/5.
