Two men arrested for driving offences in Eastbourne

Police have arrested two people after reports of a car driving erratically through Eastbourne.

The car, a silver Nissan, was seen driving along Eastbourne Road on Monday morning (March 6) around 10.55am and then towards the Seven Sisters. Police said the car collided with another car in Summerdown Road.

The car stopped in Paradise Drive and two men got out of the car and fled, police reported. Two men were arrested nearby.

A 30-year-old from Rochester in Kent was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and taking a vehicle without consent. A 36-year-old from Dartford, Kent, was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving whilst over the prescribed limit, failing to stop at an accident, driving without insurance and handling stolen goods. They have been bailed until May 7 while investigations continue.
